Weekend Entreprenuer: 101 Great Ways to Earn Extra Cash
by Michelle Anton and Jennifer Basye Sander
Although I'm not looking to start any new side businesses, this book caught my eye while at the library the other day, so I added it to my rather massive pile of books to check out (My motto when going to the library is to check out as many books as you can possibly carry and I mean that literally! Gratefully, our library doesn't have late fees because sometimes I have trouble getting my large collection of books back by their due date. So many books, so little time!). I just finished it tonight and found it full of insightful ideas and inspiration. I am often approached by people who want to start a business and can't seem to come up with any ideas. This would definitely be a book I would recommend. There are lots of unique ideas and personal stories from people who are actually implementing the ideas and being successful at it.
Though this book was not written from a Christian perspective, I very much appreciated the foreward by Dr. Laura Schlessinger which highly encouraged moms and dads to make the necessary sacrifices to be there for their children, to be the ones raising their children, not a daycare worker. If you think daycare is your only option, this book will cause you to think again. Everyone will find at least one or ten ideas which you can start right now to bring in extra money.
