The Duggars welcome #17
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- It's a girl - again - for the Duggars. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed their 17th child, and seventh daughter, into the world Thursday.
Jennifer Danielle was born at 10:01 a.m. at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark., the Duggars said in an interview. Jennifer weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and arrived five days after Michelle's due date.
Less than 30 minutes after giving birth, the Duggars already were talking of having more.
"We'd love to have more," Michelle said, adding that the girls are outnumbered seven to 10 in the family. "We love the ruffles and lace."
Jennifer joins the fast-growing Duggar brood, who live in Tontitown in a 7,000-square-foot home. All the children - whose names start with the letter J - are home-schooled.
The oldest is 19 and the youngest, before Jennifer, is almost 2 years old.
"We are just so grateful to God for another gift from him," said Jim Bob Duggar, 42, a former state representative. "We are just so thankful to him that everything went just very well."
Jennifer joins siblings Joshua, 19; John David, 17; Janna, 17; Jill, 16; Jessa, 14; Jinger, 13; Joseph, 12; Josiah, 11; Joy-Anna, 9; Jedidiah, 8; Jeremiah, 8; Jason 7; James 6; Justin, 4; Jackson, 3; Johannah, almost 2.

I LOVE this family! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on the Duggar Family News! :-)
WOW!! I didn't know they were expecting #17. Congrats to them!!
What a statement of faith in God's sovereignty this family shows themselves to be. The way they trust the Lord for their children, train them up His way (including homeschooling). My prayers are for the parents to 'stick to it' and meet the challenge of their respective roles in this wonderful family. Lord willing, there will be 17 godly families when these children start their own families!
LOL...I think every Christians blog has a little insert about the newest Duggar family memeber...even my own blog...LOL.
May God continue to bless this family!
I've seen this family on TV (Discovery Channel) and I must say I admire Michelle's countenance. It just oozes with gentleness and patience.
Thanks also Crystal for this blog! I have been reading it for a few months now and it's the first time I've commented. Your style of writing is so fresh and real and I feel as if you are one of my close girlfriends. Your posts are an immense blessing to me.
BTW-I have a question for you or anyone else that comments. I am starting (yes, starting!)to use cotton diapers (Bummis) with my almost 2 year old. Practically speaking, how do you or anyone else set up your "diaper changing area" as far as using the reusable wipes, diaper pail, etc? And any tips on laundering?
Thanks and have a blessed day!
Victoria
I can't imagine going through 17 pregnancies! :-) Wow--that's a real example of faith! I don't know that I would personally want to have such a large family, but I think it's really neat that they feel called to do so. From other things I've read about them, they also claim to be debt free, even with having a HUGE house and land. Pretty amazing! :-)
Victoria, thanks so much for your kind comment! God bless you!
As far as diapers go, I don't have any sophisticated system. I just started using cloth again with Kaitlynn (Kathrynne's potty-trained), and I currently just have a container in the our closet with the diapers, inserts, and cloth wipes. I usually change her on our bed, so this works out for us. We have a PUL no-smell bag on our bathroom linen closet door and I just throw the used diapers/wipes in there and wash a load about every other day. As far as laundering, I use the hot water cycle and natural detergent. I just dry like normal, put them back in the container in the closet once their done, and the process repeats itself. :)
I told ds that they had another baby and he is so excited for them but glad he doesn't have to share a bathroom with all of them! We are excited to watch the special next month (hopefully it will air when we are home and not out of town with my mom and dad)
Momof2: I know that sharing a bathroom with three other girls growing up was quite a lot. :) Can you imagine trying to remember all those J names, though? I always get a chuckle when reading them.
Praise God!!
I had no idea they were expecting their 17th child either. It's very encouraging to hear their story. I have been trying to view their website and it seems to be down though :(
A little girl! How wonderful! They must be in 7th Heaven...or should I say, "17th Heaven"?
Children are always a blessing from the Lord, thanks for the update.

Dear Crystal,
They might run out of Js. That
is a lot of kids. I can't wait till
I have a ton.
The amazing thing about this family is that they are debt free and they intend to stay that way. I believe this is their calling and I praise God they follow through in their obedience to Him.
So jealous; I've always wanted 17.
