Deal alert!
For those who have a Walgreens nearby, there are a few great deals going on there right now:
Through this Saturday, spend $10 on Kotex and get a $10 catalina instantly at checkout (for those unfamiliar that means a coupon will print which will give you $10 off your next order - it can be used basically like a gift certificate.). The products which are listed as qualifying for this deal are:
28 to 40 pack Kotex Maxi pads,
80 to 135 pack Lightdays Pantiliners
36 pack Security Tampons
These are all on sale for 2/$10. So buy two, pay $10, get $10 back. You should be able to repeat this numerous times - it should be an unlimited deal - so your initial $10 can be rolled quite far! Also, you can make the deal even sweeter by using coupons from your paper or printable which can be found here at SmartSource.com.
Also, for the whole month of June, most Walgreens are running a deal on free Glucerna cereal. Buy it for $4.59 and you will get a $4.59 catalina back. You should be able to do this deal multiple times as well. There are $1.25 off coupons which can be printed here.
Also, CVS has quite a few good deals this week. Check them out here. You will especially want to check them out if you are a family who drinks Coke products. Pairing the sale, with ECB, with coupons, I'm guessing that those are about the cheapest prices to be had on 12-packs. Not that I would know because we drink basically zero carbonated beverages here.
My question is: Why oh why do these stores have to run such great deals when I am on bed rest??! Oh well, I'll survive!

You should have a monthly report on the deals at Walgreens-your so good at it. So call me stupid, but do you use the catilina with that purchase or are you suppose to use it with your next purchase. And when you say you can repeatedly do it, can you do it all at once or do you have to go in at different times to take advantage of it. Thanks!!! Phallin
Phallin - Don't worry, I had to learn all of this stuff from scratch at one time, too. With the catalinas, you use them on your next purchase. You can usually do multiple separate transactions at a time using the catalina that prints to pay for your next order, etc. Do make sure they are separate transactions, though - only buy 2 Kotex products at a time, otherwise it will probably only print $10 no matter how many you buy.
I wouldn't do more than a few separate transactions at a time in a row just because I try to be considerate of the cashier, those around me, etc. If you're going to be doing a lot of errands and there are a number of Walgreens in your area and on the way, you can always hit them all and do a few transactions - that is, if you have the time, and need the Kotex products. :)
Also, this is advertised right in the Walgreens flier so if for some reason your catalina does not print, be sure to have a flier with you and ask that they make sure and give you your $10 - usually it will be in the form of a gift card.
Thanks so much:)
Yes please do post these when you see them. I'm so busy I don't always have time to scour the ads;)
I found out we DO have a CVS nearby so I can at least go when the deals are super! I think I saw a free toothbrush in the ad.
Is it easy to sign up for their card?
Thanks
Lizzie
Lizzie: You should be able to sign up instore and get the deals as soon as you sign up.
I love the Walgreens deals and usually try to do them when I can. Sometimes with children along it can be difficult to concentrate and a few times I've gotten the wrong thing. :-)
It's funny though that they seem to do the Kotex deal every other month or so, and with being pregnant or nursing most of the time I have quite a stock pile of pads now that will take me years to use up--I'll have to give some away! :-)
If you check out my blog there is a post on my recent Walgreens run.
When you do the kotex..do it alone and then use that 10.00 to pay for part of the other stuff you are buying.
I love CVS! I am a huge fan of the ECB program, thanks to your webiste. As of this week, I have saved over $150 since I started a few months ago! You've caused me to be so much more frugal. Thanks for sharing!
I went and got 2 Kotex. I got the $10 coupon.
I bought 2 more.
No coupon.
I made the clerk call the manager and they gave me a form to mail in.
Sort of took away the excitement;) The deal will be over before I get the coupon back in the mail.
I'm wondering if they did that on purpose.
